Above 50 proteins, talk to us. At that point the constraint stops being price and starts being how we schedule the work, and a published number would be misleading.

Why this matters

Screening a panel should not cost twenty times one protein.

If you are designing binders computationally, one protein rarely answers anything. You need the variant series — the point is the comparison between them, not any single member of it.

Pricing that charges full freight for each construct quietly pushes you into testing three designs when you should be testing twenty, and you end up picking a winner from a field too small to contain one.

What moves the number

Four things, in roughly this order.

How many proteins at once

By far the biggest lever, and the reason the table above exists. Setting a project up costs roughly the same whether it carries one construct or twenty.

How hard the target is

A well-behaved soluble domain and a membrane-associated protein with four disulfides are not the same job, and we will not pretend they are.

Which system it needs

Mammalian expression costs more than bacterial and takes about ten working days longer. If E. coli will do, we will tell you.

Whether you bring a construct

A validated plasmid removes synthesis and cloning, and takes both time and cost out of the quote.

About how we price

Is €600 per protein real, or a headline?

Real, at 20 proteins produced in one batch — and it covers everything: gene synthesis, the 1 L culture, purification, QC and shipping. The batch total at that quantity is €11,995. Use the calculator for any other number; it is the same arithmetic we quote from.

Why is one protein so much more expensive per unit?

Because most of the cost is standing the project up rather than running each culture: the strain work, the method, the columns, the analytics setup and the paperwork happen once whether you order one construct or twenty. We could average that across everyone and charge a flat mid-price, but then panel customers would be subsidising single orders.

Do the proteins in a batch have to be related?

No, though it helps if they suit the same expression route. Twenty variants of one designed binder is the typical case and the easiest to run. Twenty unrelated targets is fine too — tell us what they are and we will say whether they can genuinely share a batch.

What if some of them fail?

In a panel some constructs almost always express better than others — that is usually the point of running a panel. We agree in writing before starting how partial success is handled, so it is settled while nobody is under pressure.

Does batch pricing apply to CHO as well?

The same principle applies, but mammalian panels are quoted individually rather than from a published table. Tell us how many constructs you have and we will price it.

Are these prices or estimates?

The quote you receive is a fixed price for your specific project, and it does not move afterwards unless you change the brief.

What is not included?

Shipping outside the EU, tag cleavage, and refolding from inclusion bodies where that becomes necessary. Gene synthesis, purification, standard QC — including the endotoxin measurement on bacterial batches — and EU shipping are all in the price.

Is there a minimum order or a subscription?

Neither. One protein is a perfectly normal order and we do not ask for a commitment beyond it.

Do you offer academic pricing?

Yes. Tell us you are an academic group when you request the quote.

How do I actually pay?

Invoice in EUR against a purchase order, on terms agreed at the quote stage. We are used to institutional procurement and will complete supplier forms.

How many are you making?

Send the sequences and we will price the batch. One protein or 20 — the quote comes back the same way, usually within a working day.
